Tryout for Your Grad Class: Why it Matters

We get this question from parents every season: "Should my athlete play by age or by grade?" At Top Tier, we prioritize your Graduation Year for one primary reason: The Recruiting Timeline. College coaches recruit by graduation class, not by birth year. By training and competing with your peers, you ensure that you are seen by the right scouts at the right time in your development. It aligns your exposure with the collegiate calendar and ensures your "recruiting clock" is synchronized with your teammates.

Can I play up or down? We believe in starting where the fit is most logical for your future. However, we also know that every athlete’s journey is unique. If you feel a different level is necessary based on skill level or specific age requirements, we are always open to a conversation. We want to hear your thoughts, needs, and concerns to ensure we make the best decision for your athlete's growth.
